Modern Dragon Boat racing began 40 years ago in Hong Kong and it was brought to Canada 31 years ago by TCBA, a Chinese business organization, to further cultural exchange and the team sport. It’s now an annual festival that draws an audience of over 50,000. This past weekend in Toronto, crowds gathered at Centre Island to cheer on the 5000 athletes and 120 teams competing in the 31st Toronto International Dragon Boat Race Festival!
