The Award Presentation Ceremony took place on September 27th, 2025, during A Mid-Autumn Night’s Dream. Winners received their certificates and prizes, and their artwork was prominently displayed on the walls. Congratulations once again to all the winners!

Enter to Win Exciting Prize Packages!

Selected works will be featured at the Community Celebration Event on September 27 at the Pride of Canada Carousel, Downtown Markham.

Prizes are generously supported by Pandora, the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, Ferris Wheel Press, the Chinese Canadian Museum, Vitasoy, and Mr. Dim Sum.

Judge Profile

Dr. Melissa Karmen Lee from the Chinese Canadian Museum

Dr. Melissa Karmen Lee (Ph.D) 李林嘉敏 is an arts and culture leader with research interests in public art and social practice. She is the curator of Dream Factory: Cantopop, Mandopop, 1980s–2000, a seminal visual art exhibition that explores the sonic and visual worlds of Asian popular music through the lens of the Chinese Canadian diaspora.

She is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at the Chinese Canadian Museum, which was successfully opened on July 1st 2023, showcasing 3 inaugural exhibitions in a 27,000 square foot space in the heart of Chinatown. Since it's opening, the museum has presented six featured exhibitions at its main location and its two temporary sites in Vancouver and Victoria and offered numerous in-person and online programs to communities across Canada.

River Lee From Fairchild Radio

Born in Beijing, China, River moved to Hong Kong at the age of four and later immigrated to Toronto, Canada in 1988. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Toronto.

River began her broadcasting career as a program host and producer for Toronto’s Chinese radio, working on both Cantonese and Mandarin programs. She later transitioned to television, becoming a familiar face on Fairchild TV through her hosting roles on major productions including the Miss Chinese Toronto Pageant (2004, 2007), New Talent Singing Awards (2004–2006), TVB Fans Party (2010–2016), and a range of other nationally aired programs.

Cindy Zhang From Varley Art Gallery of Markham

Cindy Zhang is a visual artist and creative with a Bachelor’s of Science in Forensic Biology from Trent University. At the core of their work is the aim to pursue storytelling through visual mediums, ranging from painting and sculpture to digital illustration. They currently work as a freelance illustrator and art educator for youth.

    Eligibility
    Contest open to Canadian residents. One entry per category
    per person. (Other art lovers from other countries are welcome
    to download and participate for fun!)

    Submission
    Upload a scan or photo of your completed art through the online submission form at www.loveatmidautumn.ca.
    Contestants must use the templated official art sheets provided by Fête Chinoise. Other entries will not be accepted.

    Winners will be announced on September 25, 2025. Each category will have 3 winners (1st prize, 2nd prize, and 3rd prize). Winners will be exhibited at the Community Event in Markham, and receive a gift package from Fête Chinoise and partnering brands with a retail value of $100-$500.

    Important Notes

    • All forms of colouring and drawing/art are encouraged and welcomed. This may include but is not limited to: pencil/pencil crayon, watercolour, ink, crayons, paint, marker, chalk pastel, charcoal, paper mâché, sand, felt, and other creative mediums.

    • Entries will be judged based on creativity by a panel of judges.

    • AI-generated artwork will not be accepted.

    • A valid email and Fête Chinoise subscription (free) are required to access downloads and enter the competition. No purchase is necessary to enter or win.

    • In the event of a dispute, Fête Chinoise reserves the right to make the final decision.
