Vancouver Chinatown Foundation Inaugural Gala 2016

The Vancouver Chinatown Foundation has the mandate to build a more resilient community and promote the well-being of those in need, while preserving Chinatown's irreplaceable cultural heritage. With a capacity crowd of philanthropists, business leaders and changemakers in attendance at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, the Foundation gala raised over $1.4 million towards projects that will create lasting change in Chinatown and the Downtown Eastside.

Attendees opened their hearts and wallets in support of the Foundation's commitments to build over 229 units of social housing and an integrated health facility for Vancouver Coastal Health and a Chinese-Canadian storytelling centre. Additional pledges of $5 million were contingent upon the Foundation raising another $5 million.
