It is important to us to give back to our community and grow the pie together. For Fête Chinoise 2016, we donated 100% of all ticket sales to two organizations that were dear to us: Mon Sheong Foundation and Orbis Canada. 

Artist Alexandra Pelligrino of Cake Opera Co. is known for her breathtaking statement pieces of immaculate detail and extreme artistic quality. Inspired by porcelain and embroidery, she presented a series of cakes and desserts that combined the romantic aura and oriental motifs of vintage and modern Chinese fashion.

In the main ballroom, Todd Kjargaard of Jackie O Floral Affairs & Event Design transformed the traditional Chinese Peony Painting into a larger-than-life red carpet wall, all created with flowers.

A series of 8 iconic dresses by 3 Canadian designers: Christopher Paunil, Lucian Matis, and Mark Belford.

Our contemporary culture likes the sleekness of black and the pureness of white. Yet in traditional Chinese culture, white and black are not auspicious colours compared to the likes of red, green, and gold. How can event hosts in 2017 make use of these classic colours of Western society and make it relevant, meaningful and appropriate for a modern celebration that brings together the East and the West in perfect balance?  In the University Room, Melissa Haggerty of Spectacular Spectacular and Lidia Tacconelli of Fiori Floral created a counter culture masterpiece with blacks, whites, and beautiful jewel tones.
