Introducing Canadian actor Hugh Tran, for those who may not already know him. He's appeared in movies and television shows such as Pacific Rim (2013), XIII: The Series (2011) and The Romeo Section (2015). A passionate performer, he’s been growing his career and portfolio locally and overseas in Asia.
Hugh just wrapped filming on the latest film he stars in, Paige Darcy and the Case of the Stoned Cat, a murder mystery about a former precocious tween sleuth who has grown into an underachieving millennial. The screenplay was written by Alice Moran, who won the Sacramento International Film Festival Award 2021 for Best Screenplay and was nominated for the Best Screenplay Award at both the Canadian Film Fest 2020 and British Independent Film Festival 2022. Still images from the set as well as behind-the-scenes footage have recently been released to the public, and we are excited to see the film!

You will also recognize another familiar Canadian face in the movie, Andrew Phung. Andrew is an award-winning actor, improv comedian, emcee, and writer, and his renown work on Kim's Convenience earned him four Canadian Screen Awards for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series in 2017, 2018, 2020 and 2021. It’s great to see the representation of Asian-Canadian talent in recent productions.
