At Fête Chinoise, we celebrate community, culture, and the power of coming together to make a difference. This year, we are proud to support Scarborough Health Network (SHN) as one of our community partners, shining a spotlight on their Birchmount Hospital Redevelopment and Patient Tower campaign. This transformative project will expand capacity, enhance surgical care, and deliver the first major upgrade to the site in 40 years, ensuring Scarborough families have access to world-class care close to home.

At our 11th annual Signature Event, held February 7 at The Ritz-Carlton, Toronto, we provided SHN with a platform to share their bold vision with over 600 guests. John Tory, Honorary Chair of SHN Foundation’s Campaign Cabinet, took the stage to share the impact of collective generosity and emphasize how every gift strengthens our community. Donations and proceeds from the evening’s silent auction also support the Birchmount Tower campaign.
SHN donors attending the event shared why giving back to the hospital and participating in Fête Chinoise is so meaningful, underscoring the power of community in action.:

“What makes Fête Chinoise so special is the way it honours tradition while looking boldly toward the future. It’s more than a celebration of Chinese culture, it’s about connecting generations, inspiring community pride, and supporting Scarborough hospitals so that everyone in our neighbourhood can access the world-class care they deserve.”
“Fête Chinoise was a truly incredible event: the design, performances, and energy of the evening reflected the theme of ‘Bold New Beginnings’ perfectly. This theme is also very much aligned with what we are doing at SHN, as we take on the largest redevelopment in our history at Birchmount Hospital. It’s an honour to have a celebration like Fete Chinoise supporting our shared vision, helping us build modern facilities, expand capacity, and create accessible care for generations of Scarborough families. Together, we can make transformational change possible.”

Through nights like the Fête Chinoise Signature Event, we are reminded that culture, celebration, and generosity go hand in hand. By supporting initiatives like the Birchmount Tower campaign, our community can uplift one another and invest in a brighter, healthier future.
